Zinc is crucial to your skins health because of its antioxidant properties. The following is a summary of the reasons why zinc is crucial to skin health and what you can do if you have a zinc deficiency.

As I just mentioned, zinc has antioxidants that are good for your skin. These antioxidants are good for your skin because they protect your body from the small chemical particles that turn your food into energy. While they are needed to convert food into energy, when they get out of control they can be very harmful to the body, causing aging, skin conditions and even heart attacks. It is crucial that you are on a diet that is rich in antioxidants, by consuming c=vitamins such as vitamin A, C, E and zinc to keep your skin as healthy as possible.

SO how does one become deficient of zinc in the first place? Well it really isn’t a hard thing to do these days, because certain soils actually decrease the amount of zinc that is in some of our foods. Plus with all of the over processed and high carb foods, it is very easy to become deficient in zinc. Vegetarians may be more prone to zinc deficiencies because zinc is mostly found in meats. If you are unsure whether you have a zinc deficiency, then you should definitely see a physician.

If you are diagnosed with a zinc deficiency, then you should begin taking steps to fix it as soon as possible. The first thing you need to do is change your diet. If you are eating foods that are high in sugars or carbohydrates, then you should consider planning a diet that changes this. Some great sources of zinc in food is chicken, beef, lamb, chickpeas, pork, oysters, baked beans, cheeses and pumpkin seeds. If you do not like any of those foods you can always take a zinc vitamin pill from the health store.

One of the methods of treating psoriasis with zinc is to use a topical cream that has zinc in it. There are many of these creams on the market and they do a great job of providing zinc to the skin quickly and efficiently. Zinc is just on of many ways to treat psoriasis.

Psoriasis is a skin disorder that causes unsightly, red and scaly lesions or rashes. It is a very embarrassing condition to have to deal with, especially if you are in school or you work around many people. It affects many people’s social lives, because it has a very negative effect on their self esteem and confidence. Since it looks like such a terrible affliction, many people are afraid they can catch it from someone who has it. Likewise, people who have it, are afraid they can spread it to someone else.

The truth is psoriasis is not contagious in any way, so it is really ridiculous for people to worry about such a thing. Even though it is not contagious from stranger to stranger, it is considered to be a genetic disorder, so it can be given from parent to child. It is not yet clear how the disorder is past on, as it may not even occur for several generations. It almost seems to be random, in fact, there are many people that have psoriasis, yet no one in their family does.

You do not have to deal with psoriasis anymore, and there are things you can do to start treating it right now. All thats needed to get your self esteem and confidence back is a little bit of research and a couple of dollars. One natural way of treating your psoriasis is omega-3 fish oil. Not only does this help your psoriasis but it is also good for your heart, and it has anti aging properties. Even if you are one hundred percent healthy, you should still consider taking an omega-3 fish oil supplement, just because of al of the wonderful health benefits it provides.

Another thing you should do, is to go and see a doctor or a physician and get prescribed a topical lotion that has zinc in it. Zinc is high in antioxidants and it is great for your skin. Zinc deficiencies are also known to make psoriasis worsen. Another good natural treatment is to change your diet to include plenty of nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants. You should also try to drink plenty of water as well.
